Aligners gradually move teeth — each new tray differs from the previous one by a few tenths of a millimeter. The process is digitally planned: the doctor and patient see the expected outcome even before treatment begins. The trays are removed during meals and teeth cleaning, meaning there are no dietary restrictions.
Aligners must be worn 20–22 hours per day. Reducing wear time — even by a few hours daily — slows down treatment and can lead to a discrepancy between the planned and actual tooth positions. When worn as prescribed, aligners can achieve results comparable to braces for suitable clinical indications.
